In 2009 a group of knackered old rugby players decided to get together to try to give a little bit back. The NCC charity was born and its aim was to do an annual adventure challenge to raise a bit of money for children and adults who might not be as well off as ourselves.
In 2010 Gareth Shaw, David Beggs, Gareth Henry and Darren Best set off to canoe from Switzerland to Italy via the Ticino river system and through Lake Maggiore.
