We have the technology now, what we are lacking, is a politician with a backbone to tell the oil companies in no uncertain terms, Their Time Is Up Now. Either they help us do the right thing, or we boycott buying new cars and just buy a second hand car for 1000 dollars and spent another 20 grand making our own electric. Who's with me?

Wind turbines make electricity even cheaper than photovoltaics. In fact, in the right locations, wind turbines are even cheaper than the cheapest grid electricity in the midwest.
