GTA IV running on:

AMD 64 X2 6000+ 3.0Ghz
ATi HD4850 512Mb Overclocked Edition
3Gb DDR2 RAM
Windows Vista Ultimate 64

Graphics settings:

Resolution: 1280x1024
Textures: High
Render detail: Highest
View distance: 35
Detail distance: 35
Vehicle density: 100
Shadow density: 0 (You don't really notice them in actual gameplay, but they have a large impact on fps)

Game's running quite happily at 20fps, give or take. FRAPS eats at least 5+ frames during recording, so the game runs much smoother without it.

Video is meant purely for reference purposes so don't expect any awesome content on this one.

  • You can install the last Update For gta iv and, the fps is going UP

  • @MASTERCOLLERGAMES Yes, this video is three years old. I think we all know this.

  • im buying a hd 5570 but i dont know if i should upgrade the ram memory only have 2gb and intel core 2 quad and windows 7 ultimate is that true, that u can run gta smoother when not recording with fraps?

  • @HeathBlythe Yes, yes it is true.

FRAPS is a giant frame whore and I could run the game just fine without it when I made this video.

Also remember that this video is three years old and the game has been updated a lot since and performs hugely better than the buggy release version you see here.

And yes, do upgrade your RAM. 3Gb (imo) is the minimum for modern gaming, but I would recommend 4Gb.

  • how good can i run gta iv? lag?

    2gb ram

    AMD Athlon II X2 220 Processor 2CPUs 2,8GHz

    Radeon HD 5570 1gb

    Windows XP MCE SP3

  • @ZouTube0101 Most likely can run on good settings, most likely will not lag too badly.

Important thing is, you can run it. What graphics settings? I can't say, experiment, you should be able to enjoy the game thought.
