PICA Performance Space June 25-July 10

Stop! Don't Blink integrated contemporary dance with moveable scaffolding to add a further dimension to the performance space. The dancers moved from floor to scaffold with fluid ease and surprising grace. Using a series of vignettes the mood shifted between sadness and joy with sidesteps into humour and examinations of the way children communicate. It was fast moving and clever in the way the dancers use everyday items to create play, much as children do.

The design incorporated paintings by internationally renowned graffiti artist of the Perth street art scene, Stormie Mills. The original music score was by Matt Cornell; with its urban and industrial sound scape added a powerful dimension that the audience, especially the younger members could relate to.
