Wales: The National Eisteddfod (5): Honouring the Bard

At this point the new bard is honoured with a symbolic offer to drink from the 'corn hirlas' or 'horn of plenty', and presented with flowers from across Wales. The young girls perform a floral dance.

I was a Flower Maiden in this festival in Ebbw Vale, its a great experience, Welsh or not

Hey dokterjokkebrok, it's nice to see others taking an interest in our culture. We have endured a great struggle to keep our culture alive but the Welsh people will always endure and our language and culture is beginning to thrive again, with her future looking safe for the first time in centuries.

The 2010 Eisteddfod will be in south Wales as it alternates between the north and south of the country every year. It will be in Ebbw Vale and take place between the 31st July-7th August. Diolch! :D

I've been learning Welsh for a few weeks now and I love it!
