Pepe Escobar: Oil behind US nose poking in Uganda

Washington is to send a hundred special operations troops to Uganda to help local forces fight the Lord's Resistance Army, widely considered a terrorist organization. The Ugandan government has been fighting this guerilla group for over two decades. But Asia Times correspondent Pepe Escobar says America has far-reaching plans for the region, that have little to do with protecting civilians.

What a crock. I just left Uganda and worked directly with Uganda's J3 and some NGO's. Additionally, the U.S has been working with the development of East Africa (includes Uganda) since the late 1990's (I think 1999 to be exact). There was no oil or assumption of oil and I can tell you for a fact we have no interest in their resources, or realistically, lack of resources, but rather regional stability. Some of you need to get your head out out of your a--. Not everything is some conspiracy.
