danielvincentkelly, you are CRAZY. cancer is just overgrowth of cells. it can happen anywhere! it all depends on where it is for a cure to actually BE a cure.

So, Iodine in your system creates (relatively speaking) thyroid hormone which you want to avoid. - "It is necessary for patients to be withdrawn from thyroid hormone in order for radioactive iodine treatment to be effective."
A low Iodine diet means more of the radioactive Iodine will be taken in by remaining thyroid cells, so if your diet contains more Iodine than there should be, less of the radioactive Iodine will actually be taken in and targeted to the remaining cells.

Oh one more thing (since I'm on a roll here), and I haven't seen a response regarding why you feel lethargic in the absence of thyroid hormone supplements, so I'll share my two cents. Your thyroid hormone's functions are mainly for metabolism. So without those thyroid supplements, your body isn't able to metabolize a lot of the food that you eat, which leads to fatigue/weakness. This in turn causes another physiological response called vasodilation (brings blood to surface of body)causing sweat.

Also just to add another point. Your doctor should have told you what the purpose of the low-iodine diet before discharge. So yes, you're right he is stupid. Alright, well I'm hungry and I wish we had panda express in vancouver!

I was wondering what your diagnosis was? Did they do a total thyroidectomy or partial? based on your other video, the incision was pretty large so I assume it's total. Also that would explain the thyroid hormone supplements you've been taking. This is probably not helpful anymore given thats its been several months, but the low-iodine diet just sets your body up for a more effective radioactive iodine treatment. Having said that, it means more of your thyroid cells will absorb the RAI.

Well, fresh fruit usually does the trick. Everything just gets kind of old after a while, but once it's over you'll be scarfing down all kinds of food like no other.
Good Luck! comment with more questions :]

Wow.. just watched some other new vids.. sounds crazy with all the stuff/diet you gotta do.. :( What kind of thyroid pills did they give you? T3? T4? Both of those speed up metabolism and can raise your internal body temp which would explain the heat you feel.. dunno.. Miss ya! :D hope to see you soon!

I was anticipating something that would have T3 and T4, and thyroxin and calcitonin and stuff. But the pill is called cytomel...I don't know what it does.
love you bro! <3
