Actually, the character whose notebook this is is Gale, a self-professed libertarian chemist who is not a meth-head, but a gentle and relatively innocent character that believes in free enterprise and the individual right of citizens to do "whatever they want" (in terms of drug abuse) to their own bodies. Not at all intended as a subliminal slight on Ron Paul and probably also chosen for its similarity to the name of cast member Aa*ron Paul*.
