The extensive documentation show you the complete experiment, relevant Information also the specifics and the benefits of the product. The new PHYWE product movies show you our product highlights in detail:
P r i n c i p l e:
Electrons are accelerated in a tubefilled with mercury vapour. The excitation energy of mercury is determinedfrom the distance between the equidistant minima of the electron current ina variable opposing electric field.
T a s k s:
1. To record the counter currentstrength Is in a Franck-Hertz tube as afunction of the anode voltage Ua.
2. To determine the excitation energy Eafrom the positions of the currentstrength minima or maxima by differenceformation.
W h a t y o u c a n l e a r n a b o u t:
* Energy quantum * Electron collision- Excitation energy

  • The interpretation of the experiment is not right. In a dc voltage excited plasma standing waves are formed between the anode and the kathode. The voltage between the nodes of the standing wave is specific to the gas in the tube... The atoms wil transfer the electrons to the anode "from hand to hand" forming a standing wave...
