Me talking a bit the common data transmission protocols and their typical port numbers, as part of the AQA AS Computing syllabus.

These videos are unscripted and unrehearsed (you can probably tell). If you hear anything drastically wrong, misleading or incorrect then please get in touch.

  • POP stands for Post Office Protocol, not needed as you said but it makes sense.

  • @TheMatteoDV It does - I meant to add that in the edit, but forgot. Cheers for clearing that up.

  • When I try the command prompt thing: "telnet is not recognized as an internal or external commend, operable program or batch file"

  • @mint301 Go to Control Panel >> Programs&Features >> Turn Windows features on or off >> Telnet Client.... You should find the option to install telnet or switch it on.

    (Google is your friend :-D)

    Or better still, use a Mac or Linux machine...
