Scania Active Prediction is a new cruise control system that uses GPS to read the topography of the road ahead. The speed of the truck is automatically adjusted before going up or down a hill to help drivers save as much fuel as possible. The system initially covers central and western Europe and will be available for customers from early 2012.
Freightliner was the first to develop this kind of smart cruise control. /watch?v=Zo4L1LWGqTA

Hurray for Scania to be the first one out there to release such genious system!.Now add there gliding in neutral and few other features and you will get easily over 10% fuel savings. My ideas conserning this cruisecontrol topic are free (for the first truck manufacturer that build the system to production) and there is lot of them.
