This is a workshop from the new opera/musical, RED WHITE & BLUE with Contemporary Opera Los Angeles on September 6, 2007, directed by Tom Villano.
RED WHITE & BLUE is a "Play within a Play" and has 3 acts: Act I: "The Audition." Act II: "The Rehearsal" Act III: "The Performance".
In this clip from Act III. The famous soprano Clarise Knouse (sung by Elender Wall) has stage fright since she was booed in Milan. Gayle Francis (sung by Sally Puente) has been asked to sing her role at the last minute. She feels bad that her idol has stage fright and decides instead to get Ms. Knouse out on stage, thus ruining her own chances to perform for Placido Domingo and James Levine who are in the audience.
Music and words by Susan Asbjornson. Orchestra conducted and music orchestrated by Pancho Burgos, Bill Protzmann on piano. www.ContemporaryOpera.com
