April 23, 2010. In 1960, the Ole Miss baseball team won the SEC championship but was prevented from advancing to the NCAA playoffs and the College World Series because of racial restrictions imposed by the state of Mississippi.
50-years later, the Overby Center for Southern Journalism and Politics sponsored a special program to commemorate the team and reflect on the transformation that has occurred in the state since that time.
Shepard Smith of Fox News hosted the event.
