Restraint, except as a last resort by trained professionals when all appropriate means of de-escalating a confrontational situation is exhausted, is a failure of the Education system. All too often resraint and seclusion are used for non compliance and punishment.

We would never allow this treatment of a typical student, yet it is allowed and condoned for disabled students.

  • I am a high functioning aspergers young man and I think these people should be convicted and sentenced to life without parole. These restraints give autistic children no skills and freedom to life. I say F the staff who restrain them! It's time for them to pay!

  • i have been told many disabled students have breathing issues yet i see so many people siting on them on them as tho its the norm but it some one have a breathing issue then they run the risk of killing a kid...yet they don't ever seem to understand this, and thus siting on people remains a norm.
