In fairness I think Hodges comes out of it fine. It's his first show, and the rest of the panel are veterans. Plenty of people are a bit bewildered on QI first time out; it takes a couple of times for them to be part of the family, usually. :)

Hodges is out of his league with these guys. He may be intelligent but it just isn't translating here when compared to intelligent and funny folks (and I don't care if he won. He's not the guy. Bring on kelsey Grammer!)

Well...I don't think the five panelists are really to blame, just that Hodgman's not much for improv. That's why Laurie's on House now; if you go back to that first episode, he looks almost exactly like Hodgman does here.
