(Yellow Moon album, 1989)

Lyrics:

Yellow moon, yellow moon,
why you keep peeping in my window?
Do you know something I dont know?
Did you see my baby
walking down the railroad tracks?
You can tell me if the girls
ever coming back.

Is she hid out with another
or is she trying to get back home?
Is she wrapped up in some others arms?
Or is the girl somewhere all alone?
Can you see if she is missing me,
or is she having a real good time?
Has she forgotten all about,
or is the girl still mine all mine?

With your eye so big a shiney
You can see the whole damn land
Yellow moon can you tell me
If the girls with another man?

Oh yellow moon,
have you seen that creole woman
You can tell me,
Now aint you a friend of mine.

  • There ain't no funk like this in today's music. The rhythm in this is tight.

  • How can anybody not like this song?

  • alright

  • I first heard it in 89, on jazz88 WBGO!...Been down with the Nevelle Brothers ever since!!

  • I first heard this song in 1989, in the Denzel Washington film, "The Mighty Quinn". I had to buy the soundtrack. It is as beautifully and sensually haunting today as it was way back then. Love it.

  • フット岩尾のしゃべり方に似てるんですよね

  • SEXY

  • Love this song,

  • I first heard this on 99.1 WHFS in Baltimore. What was so unique was WHFS was mainly an alternative college radio station back then. They played stuff like The Cure, Depeche Mode, and R.E.M. So when I first heard this song I liked it right away. I didn`t know who The Neville Brothers were so after I bought the cassette I was surprised to learn that the guy(Aaron) who sang "Tell It Like It Is" was a member of the group. If it wasn`t for my love(at the time) for WHFS I wouldn`t have got that LP.

  • Top tune! reminds me of my old mix tape (recorded off the radio) haven't heard it since -memories flooding back-used to play this over and over ....

  • @Smokinglifeaway The whole album if you haven't listen to it is pretty good. The Neville Brothers have done a bunch of song like this on several albums.
