Hi Redron, Did you find a ceramic sharpener? If you're still looking, key in Steamboat Super Sharpeners. There's supposed to be a website, I don't know, I just make em. I know there is a youtube vid about em from someone I don't know. Best wishes, Dave

use both. use the arkansas whet stone to get the blade sharp, then use the ceramic rod to hone it to a fine edge to cut smoothly. not using the honing rod will result in a sharp blade that tears more than slices. using a honing rod without the whet stone will just waste your time. it is similar to looking under a microscope, you have two knobs one is rough(coarse) the other is precise(fine). the stone is rough the ceramic is precise. it's a two step process.

a good place to find a ceramic honing rod would be an "Academy" or "Gander Mountain" might find one at a bass pro shop too.

This is true... Look at knife after sharpening under microscope. It looks like a wood saw. The teeth on it need to be straightened out first.

Any Knife store should have at least one Ceramic Steel.
