Wade Preson played Christopher Colt, a traveling gun salesman who was really an undercover government agent. Donald May played Chris Colt's cousin Sam Colt.

This late 1950's western was created and produced by Roy Huggins ("Cheyenne", "Maverick"). Andrew Duggan guest starred in the pilot as a character named Jim Rexford. Huggins used almost the same name for the lead character of his "Rockford Files" series a decade and a half later.

Like all Warner Brothers shows, "Colt 45" had a great theme song: "a legend bolt but he knew that colt-Colt 45".

Donald May later starred in Warner Brothers "The Roaring 20's" with Rex Reason, Dorothy Provine, and Mike Road.

Yep! Cheyenne, Maverick, Sugarfoot, Bronco Lane. All part of being an American kid in the late 50's and early 60's. TV you didn't have to cover your kids eyes to shield from like the cultural rot today.

Two things wrong with this clip. One, a guy yells out "Colt!" So Colt just turns and fires 6 shots (awkwardly by the way). I mean it could have been his third grade Sunday School teacher saying Hi. Also, has anyone else ever noticed that there is a crew member in the reflection of the window pane just above the sleeping roll on the horse's saddle? He is wearing a white short sleeve shirt.
