Why do some planets rotate evenly around the sun, but other things such as Pluto and Halley have an unusual orbit?

@SuzLa1 As far as I know scientists do not know what causes these variations. It could have something to do with the mass and size of the celestial body or to do with the shape of the Sun's gravitational pull.
