How to recharge batteries that have lost some or all of their ability to charge.....this will work on led acid, nickle cadmium (NI cad) and nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. The only thing your going to need is a zip lock bag and a working freezer.........Don't throw that battery out just yet, this could work for you!

  • My wife was pretty much dead. After 18 hours in the freezer, she jumped out of there like a 16 year old cheerleader. Thanks.

  • @trainjustleft LOL!

  • I recharged my 9.6v NiMH and put it in the refrigerator. is that good to keep its charge?

  • @TheItalianPerson I know keeping batteries cooler than room temperature is good for them......fridge probably won't hurt them.

  • is it good to leave a NiMH and a NiCad battery uncharged?

  • @TheItalianPerson No, not for long periods of time at least.

  • I have that same Coleman Max 2AA. Advertised as 110 lumens, more like 35, but a good light for $20. It also keeps my girlfriend from borrowing (aka LOSING ) my Quarks, Fenix, and Nitecores, so yes, I do like it. ; )

  • May this work on a car battery I got a large deep freezer and 8 year old car battery out of my 63 in the yard

  • So,,, Do I want to attempt to charge the batteries (NiMH) first before the freezing?

  • @sirmasterpimp Here's some more helpful advice about NiMH battery chargers. It's a good idea to get the right NiMH charger. You never want a NiMH battery charger with a LED(Light Emitting Diode) that's always on when the charge time is complete. I'm just letting you know.

  • This worked great for me. I had 2 completely dead 3 year old RC Nimh batteries that would never charge for me. I threw them in the freezer overnight and they work almost like new. Thank you so much. Saved me $50.

  • @sirmasterpimp thanks :)
