Daveberta just posted Kevin Taft's Feb. 16 media announcement on the issue, where he commits to adopting all of the recommendation of Alberta's chief electoral officer.

Hmmm ... is there a more Tory-sympathetic way of telling this story? "PC Party directly chooses election officials, thereby saving the expense of an independent hiring process!"
Also, the CBC did give Ed his say: "There are many people that I know... that are in Alberta... met over the years... so are you saying anyone that anybody I shook a hand with ... the optics are that they can't ever serve as a deputy returning officer?

I welcome open discussion, but will remove posts that contain abusive language of any kind, on either side of the issue.
