  • I'm happy with Barry Lyndon

  • A few moments ago I have created a group on face book for everyone who wants to diskuss or ask questions about the book, Kubrick, movies, Napoleon, limited editions, or anything relvant to these topics. I hope some of you will join and hopefully debate, comment, or ask/answer questions. Hopefully this will make more people aware of the importance of Stanley Kubrick's works or the life of Napoleon and his influence on European history (I myself know very little about Napoleon). The group is open.

  • thanks a lot mgm

  • Napoleon: the book.

also known as, Hee-Haw: the film.

  • Nobody should touch this. It was Kubrick's film, and unfortunately it was never made because of short sighted studio heads. Nobody else can make it the way he would've. It'd be like someone filming all the lost scenes of the Magnificent Ambersons. Just leave it alone.

  • Forget this. I want to see the Aryan Papers!

  • No one should make this film, in so far as 'this' is referring to the one imagined and planned by Kubrick. He had his own personal relationship with the material that PTA or Fincher couldn't recreate without venturing into a sort of artificiality. PTA could do PTA's Napoloen, but he couldn't do and shouldn't attempt Kubrick's Napoleon.

  • @FakeAnarchist Is Fincher a talented visual artist? Yes. A great film director? Absolutely not. This is why he should have stuck with music videos, and why after urinating/defecating/vomiting on Cameron's ALIENS, the Hollywood community should have written him off.

  • I'd like to see David Fincher tackling this project, I think he's very influenced by Kubrick and with apparent news of him circling the new film about "Cleopatra" with "Angelina Jolee", I think he would be qualified to create a film like Napoleon.

  • So they have the locations, the costumes and the screenplay? This film should be made.

  • man this film would have been fucking awesome. Look at the massive research, this would have been the most accurate depiction of Napoleon
