Karl Malden does rule! This is my 2nd favorite supporting actor performance after Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List

Very few movies like this are made anymore. Movies that examine issues of right and wrong-and not how much money you make but HOW you make your money.
Whether you lead an honest life. Whether you stand up to corruption in all its forms.
Don't ever expect to be rewarded for doing that which is right. It is it's own reward.
Indeed, in this society, you can expect to be vilified in some quarters.

@matnsas Don't forget the piercing score by Bernstein, one of the best ever done.

This is the scene that got me interested in Waterfront. I just randomly came across it. At the time I knew nothing about Marlon Brando, Karl Malden or Elia Kazan -- but with this they sold me on the film right away. I have been a great fan of On the Waterfront and their other work ever since.
GREAT STUFF.

To me,this always been the greatest scene of the film, nothing to put down on the cab talk with his brother, but the 2old friends Marlon&Malden and the camera gorgeous takes along the Park,Fence, over the tracks,at the Waterbreak. This is the turning point of the Waterfront, delivering it to her broken so loud by horns that even the priest breaks as Edie.
This movie is amazing. When I think of great acting, I think of on the waterfront. What amazing performances!
