For everyone bagging on the example of the check, this is Brodie Merrill, arguably the best defender on the planet. Simply because the demonstration is simple to make it obvious how to throw the check, doesn't mean it won't work against good players, Brodie pulls this stuff off vs. the best attackmen in the world.

This isn't neccesarily a check you sit there and say, "OK, I'm going to get in position to get beat and pull of a ding-song." No. It's got to be almost reaction and has to be really sneaky and fast. Obviously in a real game your only going to have a split second to pull this off before he gets that stick as tight as possible to his body. I like to think of it as one of those last resort-surpirse checks.

If you play in a competitive league... Like LI or Maryland... You'd know that if a starting attackmen does that... You're playing at a kindergarten level.
