Theres no question that 2009 was a great year in horse racing, and some of the best moments happened right here in New York. Now through January 15, 2010, fans can choose from among five compelling storylines some human, some equine and cast their ballots for The New York Racing Association, Inc.s (NYRA) Story of the Year.

my vote is for Ramon Dominguez, he's a nice person and a very good rider... he does his job seriously, he 'study' his horses, try to do better the next time, he's a professional.

I think I have to say that as much as I've grown to really admire Gio Ponti, my vote has to go to Ramon. What he's accomplished by sweeping every NYRA meet is just incredible. Plus, he's as classy a man as you will ever meet. Go Ramon!
