Allentown Liberty St 3rd Alarm

In the afternoon of April 21, 2009 AFD was sent to third and liberty streets at the Liberty St Tavern on the structure fire. With a large header visible from all over the city the fire was quickly deemed a worker and second alarm called for. On arrival the third alarm was sent due to a heavy fire load in the house. Crews from the third platoon made an aggressive attack putting a good knock on the fire. Crews overhauled and hit hotspots for about an hour before starting to release units.

It's so easy to criticize the work of others when we are sitting at our computer. We see only small parts of the fire ... how can you afford to judge?

The guys drinking the water were from engine 10 they were the guys who went in the fully involved 2nd floor room to put it out. they deserve to get a drink. The guy ventilating the roof was using a chain saw on a steep angle roof, his back up was sitting on a soild piece of the roof so he wouldn't slip and fall into the chain saw on the slippery roof. I moved into Allentown for the excellent emergency services.

you cant see all the guys walking around the trucks and standing around drinking water and the guy sititng atop the roof watching the other guy vent the roof? very pendot like but this is typical tax money at work, this is why i am all for smaller and more efficient gov't RON PAUL 2012
