My Dad use to sing me to sleep with this song. When I tell people this, they ask "Didn't someone die in that song?" LoL The words didn't matter, it was the tone and the tune. Thanks for posting.

This is what music used to be? Music that told a story, that taught a lesson, that touched our hearts? What do we have now? Lady Gaga? Snoop Doggy whatever. Obscenities and perversion accompanied by random noise. We are truly a culture in the latter stages of decay.

I see everyone making the same comment. I suppose I'll throw my hat in as well. My Dad introduced me to Marty Robbins on 8 track, and I still know all these songs by heart. I sing them when I want to feel like a boy at my Dads side again.
