Video Compositing using Blender with cam tracking.

The Wax-TV and the scene behind are totally in 3D, the background video is a real one of course.

  • If my bedroom would look like that, I would die.

    Nice tracking btw.

  • @rewii93 LOL ;) good shot. But this is not really my bedroom. It's only the room just before my room where all my computer are and i past all my time.

And as you could notice, the paper on the wall are original one, so there are more older than me ^^ And yes it's very very very awfull.

  • The only thing I noticed could really improve the realism, is if you have the 3D camera (when it takes over) be a little bit jumpier. It's too smooth after it goes into the frame.

  • Yes you're right, i've used the simple spline IPO curves of blender that are too smooth. I'd better add some random to add the "jumpier" effect.

But in another hand, my idea was to come from the REAL world that is bumpy (because of real camera movements), and enter in the UNREAL world where camera movements are "computer controlled".

  • @vnt87 PFTrack

  • @wax78 what cam tracking software did you used? Voodoo?

  • Thanks you. I'm happy to have give you that little time of 'coolity' ;)

  • That was really cool

  • No i don't use anything on the real video.

I used a camtracking software to get the real camera position.

Then, I simply made the 3D model with some material "transparent but receiving shadows" (for the wall for exemple).

  • What did you use where the frame is. A greenscreen?
