Smaller ships going to Antarctica, like this one, are able to visit places where larger boats can't go. Also, many places in Antarctica only permit a limited number of people to land at one time. Everyone in the smaller boats can go ashore, while they must wait and go in shifts on the larger vessels.
However, the smaller boats can be tossed around in rough seas more easily, per the related video. Lastly, this boat had 88 passengers. It probably had an additional 70 crewmembers.

I was in Ushuaia in early December. This city has the shortest sailing time to Antarctica from anywhere in the world, so Antarctic cruises are a major source of revenue to this port.
The Drake Passage is also known as one of the roughest bodies of water to cross in the world. Over the years, many boats have been sunk in the Drake Passage and in and around Ushuaia due to rough seas and unpredictable winds.
