Pt. Bhat ji is the desciple of Pt Basav Raj Rajguru (blend of Kirana, Gwalior and Patiala gharaans)
In My Opinion he is one of the finest Hundustani Classical Singers in India today,
like Rashid Khan, Aswhini Bhinde Deshpande etc.
I believe recogniton does not always match the qualification, but nevertheless, he is a mastero in his own right
and has given concerts all over India and many places in USA.

This is simply beautiful. Pt ganapati Bhatt is like his own guru, who was a true artist probably much better than other contemporaries, but did not clamor for publicity, hence was underrated did not get a top popularity ranking. Amazing rendition.

With respect i have to say that i am deeply hurt after going through the description of this video clip. i am a die hard fan of indian classical music , irrespective of artist's names and their identities. for me, music is more important and i am sorry to say that calling Ganapati ji as a Pandit and addressing icons like Ashiwini ji and Rashid Khan Sahab just with their names is a shame. Kindly edit this and please, do not even compare this music with those legends.Stop being judgmental.

I'd heard Pt. Ganapati Bhat at the Sawai Gandharwa music festival in 1987 when he was a young freshman singing at the thrid day of the festival. I was enthralled by his voice then and am enamored by his command even today. Thanks for posting this video.
