Live at The Clubhouse, Denver, Colorado - January 31, 2010 - Excellent solos by Dan and Mitch highlight this quiet 1952 jazz standard by Alan Brandt and Bob Hames - Dan Jones, pedal steel; Mitch Jervis, guitar; Austin Hein, bass; Larry Ziehl, drums.

When most people think of pedal steel guitar, they associate it with country music...or, for the well traveled, the Hawaiian Islands. But in fact, the steel guitar has a long history in more complex forms of music. From the Big Bands of the 40s to the hard-to-find instrumental works of the 60s Nashville masters, steel players have adapted the keening, soaring sound of their instrument to the intricacies of jazz and swing.
