The video tells a story of a volunteer from a village in Burkina Faso, who is committed to help his villagers to live better and healthier.
Through Julien's long walk to the nearest health center and back to his village, the video invites us to reflect upon the progress on the way toward achieving the health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso is one of the priority countries on the international development agenda. Currently we are mid-way toward achieving the MDGs.
The EC/ACP/WHO Partnership on Health MDGs is an attempt to create a strategic framework for a coordinated support to the national health sector in Burkina Faso. The Partnership aims to strengthen national capacities in health policy formulation and enhance the engagement of national health authorities in budget support processes.
Supported by the European Commission, WHO is playing a stewardship role in this Partnership and ensures the leading role of the Ministry of Health in a coordinated process of developing and strengthening the national health sector.
As we walk with Jullienne through the partnership's story we move from the urging needs of communities to national and global commitments and witness how CHANGE can be made possible in the "country of people of integrity".
Sharing, Justice and Peace will make the world a better place.
