Those familiar with the 1981 movie "Neighbors" no doubt have a strong opinion (favorable or otherwise) on Bill Conti's cartoony score.

I like it, but I think that Tom Scott's subtler work (which was replaced) is better. This is my attempt to put the music back.

(Note: I thought about syncing the horn part with the point that the title appears, but I instead opted to sync the concluding note with the opening shot of the houses.)

  • This is great, wish I'd seen them sooner! I started to do this when I picked up the VS CD but gave up quickly after. Personally I find Conti's score prodding, childish, mockish and more than a little irratating. As has been said/written, they were trying to lighten the mood but it went way too far in the other direction and just doesn't work at all for me. By the way, are these your titles?

  • @Grim177 In the two years I worked on this, I thought about quitting at various times. The idea was too good to ignore, though and while I think the videos are a bit rough, I'm glad that I did them. Scott's score is highly entertaining. And, yes, these are my cue titles.

  • I like Scott's score. It sounds like a cross between Psycho and Young Frankenstein to me.
