I gave the dog a roasted pig ear from a big bag I bought at BJ's price club.. They're hard enough to scrape barnacles but the dog crunches 'em up with alacrity and it's a joy to behold. I once had pig ears myself, sliced into eighth inch strips and steamed in a thin brown vinegar sauce at Great Wall in New Haven as part of their buffet. They cater to a lot of Chinese Yale grad students, so they serve lots of authentic cuisine not intended to please the occidental palate. A mouthful of chewy, flavorless cartilage, akin to eating sour rubber bands, I had to spit it out, but if anything this video proves that if you slow roast them and feed them to the dog, they're delicious...

I just adored the tiny little 'snarfle' noise the dog made when you handed him the ear -- as if to say 'thanks'. SO cute! 0:15

Five minutes of pure bliss -- just don't get too close to my pig's ear!
