Gilberto Guarino plays J. S. Bach - "Das Orgelbüchlein".
According to Russell Stinson (in "The Orgelbüchlein, pp. 107-109, Oxford University Press, New York - Oxford), "Jesu, meine Freude" is a middle chorale.
Many early hymnals focuse it as a Christmas season composition and such is its place in the "Orgelbüchlein".
Though generally acknowledged as "somber music" (see, in this same channel, the previous rendition), Albert Schweitzer's views (as none other) are not to be considered as final, let alone the absolute truth.
A plenum registration seems to fit the glory of the notion of confidence in Jesus Christ, which is conveyed by the text.
The strict counterpoint may be perceived as a condensation of joy, with no shadows whatsoever.
The organ setting reveals the intensity of the musical texture.
Hermann Keller suggests one quaver = 63.
Bach wrote six four part harmonizations of "Jesu, meine Freude".
For a comparison, take a look at one of the fine renditions of the chorale-motet BWV 227.
THE ORGAN at St. Peter and Paul Church, in Cappel, is an Arp Schnitger almost entirely built by the Master, except the Hollfloit, the Nasat and the Gemshorn.
1680: Arp Schnitger builds a new organ for the Johannes Monastery Church, in Hamburg, Germany;
1816: Georg Wilhelmy moves the organ to Cappel;
1939: Restoration carried on by Paul Ott;
1973: Restoration in charge of Rudolph Von Beckerath, since the instrument had been damaged by a new heating system.
The front pipes are original.
bravo Gilberto!

@capitanoachab Grazie!

@sandyhackney Thank you. This was the first organ I saw in my life. I heard Walcha playing on it when I was a boy.
