@PKStefanini No, it will not ever be mandatory for dogs to go to the bathroom inside a house. Dogs all around the world hold their pee, just like people, and are taken out every few hours. There's nothing wrong with this. You're just trying to justify being lazy and not taking your dog outside.

Since I started feeding Rexie chicken with some supplements etc his potty has absolutely no odor and his little stools are perfect and firm. On 5 star canned food they smelled gross and were mushy and on 5 star kibble they were hard as rocks and malformed. Now on the chicken and a little rice, supplements and some flash dehydrated vegetables which he eats like popcorn by Canine Caviar he has terrific potty. I wish he would use the mat consistently though.

@steve9988Wis Many people hate dogs and resent stepping in the little smidgins of potty left all over the sidewalk after owners scoop up the potty to dispose of it. Also stepping on puddles of urine is no fun for many either. I am talking about inner city dogs and the hygiene issues many are bringing up. Even dog parks are unhealthy cesspools actually according to many. Millions of dogs are euthanized yearly due to people disliking them and resenting them.

@mrsteedandmrspeel I agree, I am lazy but I can't get out myself and Rexie hates the leash since he had to start wearing a muzzle due to his innate ferocity. He was ferocious when we got him and barked and growled when I used to get up to make a cup of tea at night. He has nipped 3 people and refused to walk on the leash for the trainer and bit his pant legs too. He is so cute though, thank heavens. He hates to go

on walks and tries to attack passersby.

@goldenRetrieverMom1 I wanted an indoor dog since I can't get out - many people don't have their tiny dogs potty/wee wee outside and actually I read other morkie owners say that their morkies will go outside to play and then hold their weewee/potty only to go when they get back inside. Rexie has a potty wee wee mat and is improving. He refuses to go outside in the rain, cold weather and that is typical of Maltese/Yorkies - they can't tolerate the cold.

@PKStefanini Dogs have kidney problems if they are given a large bowl of water and made to stay inside for 8+ hours. Just be smart and don't give your dog a big bowl of water before you leave. Lazy.
