COLDPLAY - THE STORY OF THE SCIENTIST

The song is a beautiful piano-driven ballad; the song also contains a piano riff. Chris Martin opens the song and is joined by the rest of the band after the first chorus. The song begins with a three-chord piano melody, with Martin singing the song. The track also includes a string arrangement. Towards the end of the song, an electric guitar can be heard.

The song is written about love and regret, about a scientist who may have gotten too rapped up in his work and lost the love of his life "come up to meet you, tell you im sorry" "science and progress do not speak as loud as my heart". The lyrics to the song allude to the man's powerlessness in the face of love. The song implies that he wants to go "back to the start" to fix their broken relationship.

The video to the song tells a different story. A story of a man who loses his love in a car accident after she takes her seatbelt off to put on her jacket which subsequently leads to her being thrown through the front wind screen in the crash. I grew up listening to the beatles, and i have loved them all my life. Coldplay is the only other band that can make me feel the way i do while listening to the beatles. the beatles can't be compared in our music industry today, but coldplay is definitely one talented group. their music tells a story and actually means something. and i will always love them. the day i see them in concert will be the best day of my life.
