She was Scotland's answer to Brenda Lee and Wanda Jackson and that raspy sound was true of them also! She wasn't trying to imitate the Isley Brothers. If you ever watched the U.K. shows Let's Rock and Oh Boy, she always sang like this on rock 'n' roll songs. I've had a crush on her for a long time. She was married to the late Maurice Gibb, and they remained friends after the divorce. Joe
