You need a whole lot more than 6-12 inches of cinder block to stop gamma radiation. The halving thickness of concrete is 6 inches. Cinder block are hollow. A single-layer cinder block wall gives you less than one-third of one halving-thickness.

Lead has a density of 11.3 g/cm^3. That gives it a halving-thickness of 0.4 inches. The standard level of protection for a fallout shelter is a protection-factor (PF) of 1000, or ten halving-thicknesses. That means that 4 inches of lead is needed to provide safe protection from gamma radiation (99.9% blockage). A meter of lead would be a bit overkill!

Go read the book" No Such Thing as Doomsday" before you make any kind of video telling people how to survive fallout. Were Is your air filtration. What about rain water washing fallout down next to your walls in the basement. What about overhead protection. Lighting, and, 2 weeks of food will prolong your death and agony because it seems like you don't know to raise it around fallout or any special precautions you need to take for Fallout. So do not get people killed by telling them crap.....
