JP SF days @ 46th (around the same time as Tunnel, Roxy, Cheetah, Exit, Vinyl, China, Supper Club, Show, Sullivan Room, and Centro Fly were at their peek) are no comparison. from the music to the crowd. @lilbromarky1 It's not about the economy. New York's best nightlife was back when the city was gritty and grimy. Back in the days of the REAL Sound Factory - on West 27th Street. After Guiliani became mayor, he made NYC boring and too strict. Money is actually what ruined the scene. The club life became everybody just trying to be cute and act like TV stars and models. Once upon a time, NYC had a REAL underground.
