Here is another singing bird cage automaton that has been restored by Philip Brady. This one is very unique in that it has a bird that was made to look like a hummingbird. It has a real hummingbird beak, and multi colored iridescent real hummingbird feathers. I believe this one to be of Swiss manufacture, probably early 1900's. It has a different song than any other cage of this size that I have yet heard. It arrived with a filthy clockworks mechanism, faulty bellows, and the whistle was gummy and song ws very sluggish. Brady's Clock Repair fully disassembled and cleaned and polished each individual piece of the clockworks, repaired and resealed the bellows, and whistle. The bird was nearly black with old dust as was the cage floor. Only a gentle cleaning of the bird and floor were performed to fully preserve the originality. Please visit www.bradysclockrepair.com and also please view my other singing bird and automaton videos. Please contact Philip Brady for any questions about repairs and restoration. I am always looking to buy good quality singing birds, complete or "parts' cages. I also restore the old German hand carved whistler figures, and automatons of all sorts.
