@toobfunnybunny Most likely the close up shot work was done afterwards and Don Knotts ad libed a lot being the comedic genius he is so they did not know in advance his hair was going to get completely messed up. Being the tight schedule they are usually on for those shows they probably didn't have time to re-shoot the previous stuff and the Don Knotts stuff was so great they didn't want to mess with it. While it does look a bit weird, man, am I glad they left it in lol

the continuity people really screwed up here: notice how barney's hair goes back and forth from mussed to combed in microseconds...

he acted so well u cant even tell if he really does not know it or if he is just pretending don knotts is and will always be one of the greatest actors forever who else can shake uncontrolably on command like he does that is really hard to do or ow he says nip it in the bud this is just classics right here why cant they have shows like this anymore RIP DON KNOTTS 1924-2006 we will never forget u forever and always remembered
