Fists of Pride tells the daily life of Little Tiger and his friends in a Thai boxing camp on the border of Burma. Son of migrant workers, mostly illegal, boys are trained the hard way by Thai instructors in preparation of the Water Festival, which once a year opposed them to Thais boys. In a region where combat sports have always been a matter of honor and money, the film reveals how boxing is, for many young Burmese exiles and their families, the only guarantee of survival. Bets are open and the pool value depends on the impetuosity of the young boxers in the ring.
