Maybe this is no real hope, but bands like AnCo are pretty great.

i don't understand what's appealing about the japanese school girl cover art for hot girls making "experimental" music on a looper in a few minutes. i blame grimes. there's no real hope for modern experimental music.

That is your opinion. Now you are defending yourself against those who defend laurel halo, and you have brought it upon yourself for posting a negative comment on a video which many like. Your fault. Tootles~

lolumad. I'm not even saying novelty is the 'pointless march forward' but novelty for the sake of novelty is one thing and enjoyment of habits is another.

I didnt mention anything about progress. Just pointing out the fact that from a musical perspective this arrangement could be knocked up in 5 minutes on Cubase with a couple of free vsts and isn't that great. You operate between novelty and habit? So in other words you, yourself are on the pointless march forward. I've always found that fascinating, that people reveal their own insecurities in retaliation.

Yea, because it's all for progress right? the pointless march forward? fuck you, we operate between novelty and habit, get used to patterns. And im not even really defending this song, just all sound/life in general.

anyone can set a sequencer to run and wail over it.

Give it a hipster name and a picture of modern day schoolgirls performing a ritual act of suicide, and suddenly you have people defending it.

Don't get me wrong i'm all for experimentation with sounds. But this is just a vst preset with automation on the cutoff filter and some dischordant wailing. Genius it isn't.
