AsSalaamu Aleikum, sister.

Recenly I did one henna experiment to see which liquid helps henna to achieve the darkest colour. Henna for first and darkest spot I made with Jamila 2009 and lemon juice, left it for 12 hours then aded organic cajeput EO and left for another 12 hours. Henna for second and third spot were made in the same way with water and black tea. I left henna over night sealed with medical tape. Picture has been taken 30 hours after paste removal.

I do not see much diffrenece between tea and water, but lemon juice compared with water and tea makes obvious difference.

I hope you find this interesting.

  • can i add lime juise to mix henna ?

  • @prdeepa yes

  • Salalm, i love your videos and congrats by the way on the opening of your store, just beautiful. What does cajeput do? Is this considered a terp? How is the smell?

  • @fatimaflowers333 My essential oil experiment would be a good video for you to watch. It explains what terp means, and what essential oils do for henna. Cajeput has a medicinal smell, it's hard to explain. Some people don't like the smell, it doesn't bother me.

  • hey i got a ? if red henna is a staine????

  • @JERKINZI I don't understand your question.

  • First, I don't find it fair to compare different liquids when a terp is used in only one of the mixes. I have to say a bias for lemon juice was created.

Second, I personally have always gotten dye release with fifteen minutes from my mixes, regardless of the crop I used or state I lived in. With cold water, I found that the release was almost instantaneous. I wouldn't wait 12 hours. A lot of my lawsone would have oxidized by then. What proof do I have that she maximized dying potential?

  • THIS WORKS FOR ME AND MY SISTERS. YOU KNOW THAT STEAM THING TO MAKE TEA AND WHATEVER LET THAT START MAKING THE HOT WIND PUT YOU HAND ON TOP OF IT FOR AT LEAST 15 MIN BUT IF YOU WANT IT DARKER DO IT LONGER. THAT WORKS. THEN AFTER REMOVE IT WITH EXTRA VIRGAN OLIVE OIL. OR ALOVE OIL. I LIKE VIRGIN BETTER. TRUST ME THIS WORKS.

  • @prdeepa yes you can mix it with henna

  • @fatima23reed It is true.

  • also i have heard that 24 hours after rinsing the stain gets a bit darker before it gets lighter.. do you know if this is true?

  • if i pre mix my jamila henna with lemon juice and let it sit in a baggie 12-24 hrs can i expect faster results when i apply it? like 1-2 hrs to deep red verses 4-6..?

  • Thank you i've been trying to find out too and this was helpful for me

Thanks to you and to May

    best wishes for you

  • thank you, it's so helpfull!!
