Aboriginal Dance - Gulpilil, Blanasi

Australia's Aboriginal people have no written language. The legends and the stories of their past have been kept alive in song and dance. This video contains two films that provide a beautiful and valuable record of Australian Aboriginal dance.

Three Dances by Gulpilil, filmed in 1978 at Bamyili, features dances by one of the best-known exponents of Australian Aboriginal dance, David Gulpilil, accompanied by David Blanasi on the didgeridoo . Five Aboriginal Dances from Cape York, filmed in 1966, is a record of Aboriginal dancing at the Aurukun Mission Station in far north Queensland. Note that there is no didgeridoo in the Cape York dances.

Which is worse?

1.The PAST: They didn't develop to the level of Stone Age Man. In 60k yrs they didn’t produce so much as a pen & paper.

2.The PRESENT: Another epic failure. They reject progress, refuse education, abuse alcohol whilst embracing child abuse and Domestic Violence.

3.The FUTURE: The only change in the last 60000yrs came in 1778. They receive opportunity, technology, education, wealth & best of all, white men to blame for all their failings! That's enough for the next 60k yrs

Very inspiring. Looks like a lot of primal movement patterns.  Part of evolutionary birthright. Remember, you embody beautiful ancient technology with a long, long, long, long, long history of joyful movement and a style of living in the present while at the same time as seeing your connection to your ancestors, both past and future, and ultimately seeing your connection to everything in your knowable universe.

We can learn a lot through this style of being.
