It let me thinking about a talk in 1920 between Hirschfeld and the later great songwriter Bruno Balz, then 17 years old, in Berlin. In the szene was the word "schwul" (to there time more also for women like the engl. gay, today most exclusivly for men) also with a positive meaning and Balz used ist in a talk with Hirschfeld. Hirschfeld said "we" had this word to avoid, beause the "normals" used it as a bad word.

Marvin, you need your own daytime talkshow. I think Dr Phil should retire & Oprah should anoint you his successor. You're a Jew for Jesus? Like the apostles? Cool. As for the "Q word", do you really want to take on the entire continuum? They have power you've scarcely dreamed of. Maybe you should start smaller... like the "F word"... there are many other ways to describe something you find fabulous without arousing the 'phobes. ;-)
