Beep... beep... beep...

Don't think that this and Francium are a sign of things to come or anything (MANY MONTHS LATER EDIT: ahahaha who am I kidding). I found this song a while ago, but only recently (because of Francium) noticed that no one cared about it. So why not.

The title is probably the thing I'm least sure about. One of the Japanese Youtube videos calls it "Call, Not Call," which makes... some sense, since "phone" seems to basically be usable as a verb in Japanese. It might just be "Call the Phone" or something.

Also, the page for it on the Hatsune Miku Wiki (yes, really) comments on the title being "profound." Which, ultimately, probably means that it has a bunch of meanings that can't be translated.

Song by Lamaze.

  • THEN WHO WAS PHONE?

  • upload in two parts, give a complete(not split into two) download link and/or a link to the smilevideo page on both videos? Not the best solution, but hey, it works and you'll have shared something :3

  • ..the guy gives up, and "Hangs up". Then Miku feels sad and kills herself, because that was the only person she ever tried to connect with. She had no one else.

4.) Miku's on death row, although she's innocent. She gets a phone call. She hopes it's someone that can prove that she didn't do the crime. The person doesn't say anything. She keeps trying to get them to help her. They eventually hang up, then Miku's put to death, because they hung up the phone, without proving her innocence.

  • So many ways to interpret it!

1.) Miku's depressed, and think that no body cares about her. Some punk prank calls her, and says nothing, just listening to her squirm. He hangs up, then she ends it.

2.) Miku's love moved far away, and she can't talk to him. She can never get ahold of him. She gets sad, and doesn't feel like live is worth living without him.

3.) Miku loves someone, but can't make a personal connection with them. They're both trying to connect with each other, but eventually..

  • Isn't Lamaze the guy who made Po Pi Po?

  • I think you get the idea, so I'll leave the other lines to you. Toward the end of the song, the cell phone begins to die:

"I'm always waiting for that sound but I don't hear anything," the phone isn't able to get a signal anymore.

"The once-bright numbers begin to fade," the battery is beginning to die.

"I'm just trying to understand you with all my strength," the cell phone struggles to maintain a connection with a dying battery.

    Odd interpretation, I know.

  • And now, for my interpretation: the song is from the perspective of a cell phone.

"I begin to tremble," the cell is ringing.

"All I want is your response, I'm so anxious," the cell is trying to connect.

"This line connecting us is my life," without a signal, the cell will not connect (or it could be a way of saying "connecting others is the only reason I exist")

"I'm heading toward the light Trying to reach the source Struggling to reach it," the cell is having some difficulty connecting

  • The world outside is strange

    I've always been imprisoned

You caused this to end, because

    My phone was disconnected

  • Hello? Can you hear me? I want to know where you are. All I want is to search for you But I can't get away from here. Hello? Can you hear me? I'm always waiting For that sound But I don't hear anything. The once-bright numbers begin to fade "This must be a curse..." This is painful... I'm getting tired. My fingertips get warm I'm just trying to understand you With all my strength Everything is getting blurry The world is fading It's all been... So painful
  • Holding the receiver, I begin to tremble I heard someone's voice Hello? Can you hear me? I'm here. All I want is your response I'm so anxious. Hello? Can you hear me? Since I'm all alone This line connecting us is my life. I'm heading toward the light Trying to reach the source Struggling to reach it. Embrace me Feel me Forgetting how far away you are, I stare Again and again, day after day We're interrupted And when we part I want to grab that hand But it's fleeting... A dream
  • For those who are confused, I'll offer my interpretation. I interpret it rather literally rather than as a metaphor.

Basically, she feels no purpose in her life except for talking to one person. She can't see them because they are far away so she can only talk to them over the phone. At the end, she dies as the phone disconnects and she loses the only thing she was living for.

  • Hmmnn. I think it's either about a girl who died and was trying to contact her loved one/s through their phones, or about a long distance relationship that is ending (I reach out for you, but it's fleeting, a dream).

Though the ghost idea would probably fit better, I have felt this way before in my relationship.
