Alrighty now....here's your chance to defend liberalism or conservatism. My own personal believe is this, most liberals when they take a close look at their life, will find they are actually closet conservatives.
@visszahang unfortunately your rubuttal isnt solid because reports all over the world have states that public health care is cheaper and private health care is expensive and throws the country in debt. Plus why are you demonizing regulation? If you look at systems around the world, there regulation is meant there for safety and make sure things don't go wrong at all.
@loloioi Unfortunately that rebuttal lacks the reality of how health care works economically. Private health care pays (makes up the difference) the cost of public health care. If citizens want lower health care costs, phase out medicare/medicaid. Higher health care costs is the result of public health programs (and probably a wee bit too much regulation).
if we can trust the government with running the military,we can trust it to have a moderate roll in running health care.i'm a prolife liberal, and if being prolife is a core value, sending troops to war without proper resources that result in death, killing babies, and people dieing from no heath care, are ALL offensive.people who have veiws from both sides are always left out of the conversation.
I'm of the Liberal side but I don't agree with liberals today =/
And I don't agree with the conservatives either. Both sides make a nihilistic argument for policy.
Liberalism as made clear here has noble intentions but ignore human nature altogether.
Conservatism accepts the terms of liberty and then tries to toss absolute morality down your throat as if it were normal, which is just presumptuous and arrogant.
You think helping the poor is only a liberal view? Both parties care about that of course.

Great questions. I appreciate equity of liberal and conservative positions. Very well articulated and reasonable.

In Sweden (and the rest of the world) liberalism is equivalent to libertarianism, the liberalism here is described to social democracy.
