why Is it impossible to separate two Quarks. i would like to Know More

Good comment. I know the feeling, I did 5 years doing astrophysics and I cant help but think the likes of Michio Kaku, Brian greene, Brian Cox & others managed to explain everything so much more clearly than my lecturers ever could.

It's not impossible to separate quarks... There just has to be enough energy to "confuse" the gluons.
Smash two lead atoms into each other at sub-light speed and see what happens.

@seventiesmoron try youtubing the casopeiaproject. or things like basic physics, atom models, and things like that
-
give me one of those big plastic nucleus things i bet you i could separate the little bastards
-
@seventiesmoron best is: first try wikipedia.
Then google names of particules.
Or read any science magazine about subparticle physics, but sometimes they tell bullshit.
Even specialist in quantum physic cant understand their own matter, so ... have fun :)

Hey! 'tole me he once he fell in to onna dem mini black holes one time and them pharticle physicist persons, what whid it micro-mega gravity and no-doubt narrow sides, thought that that was it for him an were arranging his send-off to the great mere-qwak in the sky when he had to clamber outto the event horizon an tell all them bit-fizzy-boys to: "Queiten down - it just a fur wound!"
-
Well get me, MEareCAT!
my mother's cousin knows Aleksander the meerkat who does them car insurance ads when he got some time off from wrapping himself in cotton wool and scampering round inside the hadron collider to clear out all them leftover quarks!
-
they sideways fool!
-
My teachers cousin is one of the top scientists of CERN and she visited him in Switzerland :)
-
@seventiesmoron get complete idiots guide to physics a good book for understanding physics
-
and you separated them without a atom smasher , yeah
i find physics really interesting but have very little understanding of it.. protons?? neutrons?? electrons?? quarks?? higgs?? does anyone please know of any way i could understand it easier? or of any books or websites that may help? please help

You poor guy! I've blocked him now. Try other youtube and TED videos for explanations. I did three years of physics at uni and the stuff I learned the best was from watching documentaries =D

you only did 1 not 2 . you are suppose pull on both handles at the same time. if you try it locks up.

Oh yeah? I don't remember that. In the video I had one hand holding the camera anyway =D

Where it is? I want to visit :)

It's at CERN. The worlds largest particle accelerator in Geneva. You have to book way in advance if you want to see underground but the free museum bit is cool.
